WHAT IS AN X-RAY?

An x-ray takes a picture of your bones and other parts (for example your tummy). They have been used by doctors for over 100 years since 1895!

WHY DO I NEED AN X-RAY?

You may need an x-ray for many reasons, for example if your doctor is worried you might have broken a bone or have a problem with a joint. An x-ray is also good if your doctor wants to take a closer look at your heart, lungs and stomach (abdomen).
